Organizing Committee “Sochi 2014”
Development of a comprehensive event management solution and its subsequent support for the Organizing Committee of the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014
GMCS developed a comprehensive solution based on Microsoft Dynamics AX that covered all key business processes of managing sporting events including accounting, tax and management accounting, treasury management, budgeting, investment flows, procurement, document management, logistics and warehousing.
At the launch of the system in 2008, prior to the Olympic games starting, the system had 50 users. Since then, it has grown to more than 35,000 users. Throughout all this growth, GMCS provided business application support and development services.
IOC recognized the system as the best ERP solution in Olympic history.
Results of long-term collaboration:
- Reduced time to prepare and approve budgets
- Decreased coordination and management reporting time for the Organizing Committee, partners and International Olympic Committee (IOC)
- Improved management efficiency of warehouses spread across an area of 36,000 sq. meters
