Valio uses “VerEx. Veterinary” solution to certify finished dairy products

The Russian division of concern Valio, the leading producer of dairy products in Finland, has demonstrated its readiness for mandatory electronic veterinary certification of dairy products. For data transfer to Mercury Federal System, Valio uses GMCS solution “VerEx. Veterinary”.

Since July 1, 2019, mandatory electronic veterinary certification of finished dairy products has entered into force. Production, transportation and sale are now also recorded in the Mercury system. Electronic certificates are issued for condensed milk, butter and cheeses. And, from November 1, 2019, veterinary certification will be extended to yogurts, kefir, milk in consumer packaging and some other types of dairy products.

Nikolay Vlasov, Deputy Head of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor), summed up the first days of the certification in the Mercury system and assessed the degree of compliance of manufacturers and retailers with the requirements to electronic veterinary accompanying document for finished dairy products. According to him, the system is running in the normal mode, and the number of daily processed documents was 6.7 - 6.8 million.

Among the major producers of dairy products, Valio has a high degree of readiness. Without significant interference from the Rosselkhoznadzor, Valio carries out the necessary work to generate the electronic veterinary accompanying documents and delivers finished products to retail networks without failures.

Valio conducts electronic veterinary certification of finished dairy products using GMCS solution “VerEx. Veterinary”. The system is designed to automatically generate production documents based on the data on sales, production, and transfer of raw materials to production. Formation of transport documents based on documents of movement and sales, extinguishment and cancellation of documents during the product disposal also occurs automatically.

“Valio's IT strategy fully reflects the Finnish management standard. The company does everything in a timely manner, carefully considering the details. Last year, Valio was among the first enterprises to integrate with Mercury Federal System, with our help. Today, we continue to support the integration solution: we monitor changes in the regulatory and technical requirements for electronic veterinary certification and make the necessary improvements,” said Denis Timoshenko, Business Director, GMCS.

“VerEx. Veterinary” is a cross-platform industry solution within the VerEx Platform. The solution is designed to send data on the production and processing of products from ERP systems to Mercury Federal System. The solution is included in the register of IT solutions recommended by the Rosselkhoznadzor.
