Klöckner Pentaplast Rus is taking manufacturing to the next level

Klöckner Pentaplast Rus, a subsidiary of Klöckner Pentaplast GmbH & Co. Kg – a global leader in the production of rigid plastic film solutions for primary packaging, with the support of GMCS, automated new manufacturing processes in Microsoft Dynamics AX.

The Klöckner Pentaplast Rus has been operating in Russia since 1998. More than 1000 tons of products are shipped monthly from warehouses in Germany, St. Petersburg and Moscow. The company's customers are more than 200 food enterprises in the meat, fish and dairy industries.

The company launched the third production line using vacuum thermoforming technology and upgraded of the MES system, so the appropriate changes to the ERP system based on Microsoft Dynamics AX were needed.

“We are constantly working to expand the production capabilities demanded by the market. The launch of a new high-tech thermoforming line means not only expanding the assortment but also a new stage in the development of the enterprise,” commented Viacheslav Ksenofontov, Managing Director, Klöckner Pentaplast Rus.

To solve the business problems encountered, Klöckner Pentaplast Rus turned to GMCS Company that had previously helped to update the ERP system from Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 to Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012.

GMCS made the necessary improvements in Microsoft Dynamics AX for the correct generation and export/import of data on production orders, both for internal operations and for the preparation of external reporting.

“Microsoft Dynamics AX has automated the full production cycle, the most complex of which is the last thermoforming line. One of the customer’s requirements was the launch of the necessary ERP functionality before the commissioning of a new production system. There were no specifications for integration with the new MES system. To minimize the risks associated and to comply with the deadlines, we finalized the integration mechanisms with Microsoft Dynamics AX almost simultaneously with the commissioning and launch of the MES system,” added Anton Chepurin, Project Manager, North-West Branch, GMCS.
