GMCS implemented a solution to connect Valio to Mercury Federal System

GMCS ensured the integration of Valio subsidiary in Russia with Mercury Federal State Information System for electronic processing of veterinary documents. The solution “VerEx. Veterinary” allows Valio to register products in compliance with the requirements of the RF Law “On Veterinary Medicine” No. 4979-01.

Valio offers a wide range of fresh dairy products under known brands Viola, Oltermanni, Valio Baby, lactose-free products, and a non-dairy range. 90% of its own products for the Russian market are produced at Valio's own factory in the Moscow region, which also acts as a logistics and distribution center, as well as at partners’ production facilities in Moscow and Leningrad regions.

Solution “VerEx. Veterinary” provides data exchange between ERP system based on Microsoft Dynamics AX and Mercury system as part of operations related to the receipt, movement and sale of dairy products, and the execution of electronic veterinary accompanying documents. The system is designed to automatically generate production documents based on the data on sales, production, and transfer of raw materials to production. Formation of transport documents based on documents of movement and sales, extinguishment and cancellation of documents during the product disposal also occurs automatically.

“Valio conducts electronic veterinary certification of raw materials, as well as products supplied in the CIS and Kaliningrad. The certification is performed in the Mercury system in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation, which entered into force on July 1, 2018. To connect to the system, the company has chosen a data exchange solution developed by GMCS. Now Valio products are delivered to retailers without interruptions,” said Yevgeny Kalinin, IT director of Valio LLC

GMCS is the official IT partner of Rosselkhoznadzor. “VerEx. Veterinary” is a cross-platform industry solution within the VerEx Platform. The solution is designed to integrate with Mercury Federal System, including the cloud service.

The project was a part of continues cooperation with Valio. The first project was implemented ten years ago. GMCS helped automate business processes on the base of Microsoft Dynamics AX in the central office and a plant in Ershovo.

“Valio has become another food industry enterprise that has chosen “VerEx. Veterinary”.  We have made several specific adjustments related to the certification of dairy products,” added Denis Timoshenko, Business Director of GMCS.

About Valio

Valio has done business in Russia since the early 1900s. For a long time, Russia was Valio's primary export destination. The foreign foods import ban in 2014 has changed the nature of the business significantly. Now the majority of Valio products sold in Russia are produced locally.

The best-known Valio brands in Russia and the CIS countries are butter, known as Maslo Valio™, Valio Viola™ cheese spreads and Valio Oltermanni® cream cheese. The selection also includes many fresh products, such as milk, yoghurt, quark, and sour cream. The Valio Viola™ cheese spreads are produced by Valio's plant in Ershovo, near Moscow. The other products are sourced from select local subcontractors. Valio still exports some products from Finland to Russia that are not covered by the ban on foreign foods. These include lactose free milk, juices and berry soups. Towards the end of 2016, Valio announced it would begin exporting Finnish Valio Baby® baby foods to Russia.
