CNews ranked GMCS among the largest IT suppliers in the retail

CNews Analytics has published a review of "IT in retail 2019". GMCS has become one of the largest IT suppliers in retail. The rating traditionally goes along with the market review. 

GMCS revenue in retail in 2018 amounted to 718,487 thousand rubles. GMCS has been working with the major Russian and international retailers, such as Leroy Merlin, X5 Retail Group, Hoff, Askona, Lamoda, Chanel, and others. In 2018, GMCS implemented projects to automate the processes of front and back office, optimize and model business processes, and build business intelligence. GMCS has helped retailers to manage omnichannel service and develop digital services. 

According to Rosstat, in 2018 retail turnover in Russia increased by 2.6%. The revenue of the 20 largest IT suppliers in retail has been growing almost 4 times faster, increasing by 8.8%. However, this is the lowest growth rate since the rating has been prepared since 2009. 

CNews analysts say that technologies are becoming the most important tool for the development of retail. Retailers develop their own competencies in the development and implementation of IT solutions. Microservice, Agile and DevOps turned out to be in demand like nowhere else. Large retail chains and online stores are gradually becoming IT companies, not just selling certain products, but providing full-fledged services based on the most modern technologies. 

In Russian retail, the main trends of recent years are most clearly manifested - not only technological but also mental. The industry clearly demonstrates that digitalization becomes effective when it is truly in demand and economically viable.
