The role of women in IT was discussed at IWD Moscow 2020

On March 14, Moscow, Women Techmakers (WTM) held the International Women 's Day conference. Ekaterina Nosova, Сonsultant of the GMCS branch in Tula, went to the event and found out what challenges women face in IT today.

Women Techmakers is a global program launched by Google celebrating women, encouraging them to pursue and excel in technology careers. The goal is to inspire passionate, creative women through discussions with thought leaders, technical workshops, design sprints and networking opportunities.

International Women’s Day 2020 (IWD) is a series of global conferences designed to increase women's visibility in IT and discuss best practices for developing quality products and services.

Within lectures and workshops, participants touched on various topics, including soft skills development, programming and design in the era of artificial intelligence. Technical speakers were experts from Google, Yandex, Sberbank and other companies. The event was held in the original Google style with snacks and entertainment.

“Despite the fact that the event was held on a day off, there were practically no empty seats in the hall. It was pleasant to be in a company of like-minded people and discuss relevant topics in the field of software development and programming, self-development and learning,” said Ekaterina Nosova, GMCS.
