SPIBA, GMCS and Timetta held a round table on import substitution in the field of project management

On March 25, the IV seminar and round table on "How Russian IT products are transforming the field of project management. Case studies from Timetta and other domestic solutions" were held in St. Petersburg. The event was organized by GMCS, Timetta and the SPIBA Innovation and Intelligent Systems Committee. During the seminar, leading experts from manufacturing companies, integrators and auditors discussed topical issues of import substitution in the field of project management.

The event was moderated by Iya Kuznetsova, Vice President of GMCS. The speakers represented various companies and shared their experience in implementing Russian products, as well as approaches to organizing project management in the context of various business processes.

Alexander Spiridonov, Executive Director of Timetta, told about the functionality of the Timetta product, and also noted the importance of a flexible approach to resource management in conditions of deficit. "This is a great opportunity for us to talk in detail about the approach to resource management within the organization. We see that working with human resources is coming to the fore in the current conditions. Good specialists are hard to find and hard to keep, while competition within the industry is growing. And companies' expectations of investing in specialists are growing. Timetta suggests finding a balance between employee satisfaction and the benefits of their work by better distributing the workload within project teams. Our method is in demand and it works, which we prove time after time with concrete examples," said Alexander Spiridonov.

Elena Mosyazh, Business Director of GMCS, shared the results of the Timetta integration. Today, GMCS uses this system to plan resources and project budgets, control costs, and evaluate profitability.

"Our experience demonstrates that Russian products can not only compete with their foreign counterparts, but also offer unique opportunities that meet current market challenges. The choice of Timetta was determined by new realities: a shortage of qualified personnel, an increase in the number of IT products and the need for import substitution. Historically, we have attracted specialists from different regions, companies, and even countries. There is a need for a tool that can account for labor and overhead costs, including outstaffing. Timetta allowed us to significantly improve the efficiency of resource management, making the system a powerful tool for monitoring the profitability of projects in real time. The system takes into account not only actual income and expenses, but also allows us to make forecasts, making project management more transparent and reliable," emphasized Elena Mosyazh.

In addition, representatives of various companies spoke at the event. Elizaveta Pohil, Junior Manager for Digital Project Integration from Unilever Rus (Arnest Group) shared her experience in project and resource management using a domestic product Kaiten. The planning process using domestic developments was discussed in more detail. Elena Punicheva, IT Director at Astros Logistics, talked over the reasons for using western solutions and gave recommendations on choosing domestic analogues, which helped the participants consider the issue of import substitution from different angles. Olga Babayan, Deputy Director of the Accounting and Reporting Outsourcing Department at Konsu, demonstrated the 1C-based contract and project services management automation system, showing how it helps track revenue, resources, profitability and efficiency, as well as plan and analyze data.

After the round table, where participants answered questions from the audience, Iya Kuznetsova summed up the meeting: "Despite the high relevance of automation of project management, a unified approach to its implementation has not yet been formed. Having the necessary competencies to develop complex IT solutions, we made an informed choice in favor of a ready-made Russian platform that easily adapts to the needs of the customer. I recommend that companies, especially in the professional services sector, consider such platforms as strategic investments in improving management sustainability. This will help reduce development costs and ensure efficient management of expensive resources in accordance with international Professional Services Automation (PSA) standards."
