GMCS at the SPIBA Logistics Breakfast: How to Transition to Electronic Transport Documents Without Losses
In July 2026, a business breakfast on the topic "Freight Forwarding 2026: Regulatory Innovations, Practice, Technologies" was held in St. Petersburg. The event was organized by the Logistics Group of the Industrial Committee of the St. Petersburg International Business Association (SPIBA).
The event took the form of a session featuring speaker presentations and a panel discussion. Participants discussed key regulatory changes in the transport industry set to take effect on September 1, 2026, shared practical case studies on transitioning to electronic transport documents (ETD), identified current issues and barriers, and outlined potential solutions. The discussion was attended by representatives from industrial enterprises, logistics operators, and transport companies.
Among the speakers was Nikolay Semenov, Business Director at GMCS. He presented a systematic overview of which software products help businesses quickly and painlessly restructure their logistics processes to work with ETD. In his presentation, Nikolay compared three main automation approaches (in-house development, ready-made solutions based on 1C, and using the operator's personal account), and also provided an analysis of popular off-the-shelf solutions — "1C-ETD" and "Kontur-Diadok Logistics" — with a focus on their implementation methodology and practical usage scenarios.
Invited experts included Alexey Kvyatkovsky, Head of Logistics Services at Ediweb, Igor Pachosik, Deputy General Director of Transoil, and Natalya Panova, Chief Accountant of JSC "CO Lyubimy Krai". The discussion was moderated by Olga Nekrasova, Director of Client Relations at Astros Logistics.
