GMCS at the ARMFK Grand Prix Final
On June 8, the final of the Grand Prix of Russia and the CIS among adult amateur skaters took place in Moscow. GMCS acted as a partner of the event as part of the corporate charity program.
141 athletes participated in the competition. Skaters with the best average score in their age class based on the results of 16 stages of the Grand Prix of the Association for the Development of Mass Figure Skating (ARMFK) were able to qualify for the finals.
The 2023/2024 season was the first time a Grand Prix series was held for adult amateur skaters. A total of 16 stages took place in 13 cities of Russia and the CIS countries, at each of which various types of amateur figure skating were presented: free and artistic programs of single skaters, solo and pair dances, performances of sports pairs.
At the final stage of the Grand Prix at the Chkalov Arena, competitions were held for the first time in a new discipline - master mix. This is a category in which an amateur athlete competes in a pair with a professional skater.
