About the client
AQUA VISION – is a beverage and juice production plant and a major investment project, named by experts as one of the 10 largest within Russia’s consumer sector industries. Project value amounts to over 140 million Euros.
Sitation
In March 2007 AQUA VISION commissioned the largest beverage and juice production plant in Europe. By that moment a project for the implementation of the SAP Business Suite solution had already been completed.
This is the only project in Russia, when launch of a full-featured management system based on SAP Business Suite was conducted on an enterprise that was still under construction. This strategy was initially chosen by the company’s management and was mainly due to its orientation towards western standards of conducting business. The company established its business in parallel to SAP solution implementation, which allowed AQUA VISION to cut labor costs on the reengineering of business processes that are characteristic of other projects. As of the moment of implementation of the ERP system AQUA VISION had no established business processes. Of course the company was aware of a number of risks accompanying this approach, but the choice was already made and it is now safe to say that it paid off.
According to Stanislav Odintsov, President of AQUA VISION: “The project carried out by gmcs is of strategic importance to our company: together with our own innovations and management methods, we consider the implementation of the SAP system a significant competitive edge. Launch of the full-featured system shall allow AQUA VISION top managers to use the powerful modern tool of receiving analytical data for management decisions from the first stages of production development”.
Project goal
The projects main goals were to ensure comprehensive integrated support of all of the chains of the company’s business-processes, as well as a high level of production manageability, flexibility and transparency of the activities of the enterprise. Implementation of the project was conducted according to the ASAP methodology, which has repeatedly proved the success of its application in practice in many industries and for diferent categories of clients. In order to design an integrated map of the solution the SAP Solution Composer tool, including Collaborative Business Maps, was used at early stages of the project. In order to increase efficiency of works on the project as a whole and the quality of subsequent support of the system an internal team from the client’s side was formed. AQUA VISION chose the strategy of forming a team of interns, who obtained knowledge on the implemented solution during the project and subsequently continued to support productive operation of the system on their own. The total duration of the project was 2 years. Partial productive launch was conducted in April 2006, the system was launched into operation in November.
Results of the project
The SAP Business Suite solution fully supports all AQUA VISION business processes: bookkeeping, tax and financial accounting, budgeting, material assets management, production management and planning, end cost planning and calculation, sales processes management, technical services and equipment repairs, quality control, human resource management, including payroll calculation. By the time of implementation the company had gathered experienced business experts with established principles of conducting business, who had clear requirements towards processes and aware of the company’s strategic goals. Together with the experience and qualification of GMCS consultants this was one of the key aspects of successful implementation. Stanislav Odintsov, President of AQUA VISION comments on the results of the work: “use of SAP functional blocks, such as management analysis, management of logistics, warehouses etc? allows to significantly cut excess costs that are unavoidable during the first stages of creating a large logistics chain. Optimum planning of logistics and warehouse operations minimizes expenses for these purposes, thus providing the possibility to offer direct supply of produce from the plant at competitive prices not only to large distributors but also to mid-sized and small retailers. Consolidation of financial, production and logistics chains into a single block inside SAP eliminates supply failures, as well as creating optimum conditions for financial relations between the producer and sellers”.
