A project at a FIAT - GAZ joint venture became the first international Russian Baan ERP introduction project. Works under the project were performed jointly by GMCS and Ernst & Young CIS in Turin (Italy) and in Nizhniy Novgorod, Russia. FIAT uses Baan ERP system at its manufacturing works in many countries of the world. As Nizhegorod Motors Joint Venture was incorporated, Baan ERP system was also selected as an integrated solution.

To the project's main objectives one may ascribe development of a charter of accounts with regard to corporate standards of FIAT Group and requirements of Russian Laws. GMCS' consultants were engaged as experts in Baan ERP to solve the following tasks: identify design and configuration of a Finance subsystem, conduct training, perform test operation, provide consulting support during commercial operation of the system.
